Pig Penning Competition - Wednesday, August 8th

The competition starts at 6pm!

What is Pig Penning?

A pig penning competition is a lively event filled with energy, teamwork, and rural charm for all ages. Participants, aim to guide a pig into a designated pen within a set amount of time.

  1. A spacious area at the arena is sectioned off with pens at one end and an open space for maneuvering. Each team has its own pen to corral the pig into.
  2. Pigs used in these competitions are usually sprightly and quick, adding excitement and unpredictability to the challenge. They aren’t harmed in the process—it’s all about skillful herding.
  3. Teams must use strategy, coordination, and communication to guide the pig toward the pen. Some rely on movement patterns, while others attempt gentle steering techniques.
  4. Time Crunch: The competition is timed, and teams need to act fast! Bonus points or prizes may be awarded for doing it in record time.
